Peter Michael Lewis February 13, 1957-September 9, 2021

Peter passed away peacefully after a long illness, never losing his love of life and sense of humor. He was married to his high school sweetheart, Patricia Claus, for 43 years. He leaves behind his daughter Cathleen Lewis of Lawrence, NJ, his sons Johnathan Lewis of West Roxbury, MA, and Peter Lewis of Port St. Lucie, FL. He also leaves his son-in-law, Paul Penna, daughter-in-law Daniela D’Angelo-Lewis, his granddaughters Abigail and Bridget Penna, his devoted dog Tessa, and family members.

Pete grew up in Flushing, NY, where he met his wife, Patty, at Francis Lewis High School in Flushing . In 1985 they moved their young family to Needham, MA. He attended Queens Community College and began work in manufacturing. He worked in supply chain management and logistics, often consulting with companies on the east coast. He served in a variety of volunteer and leadership roles for APICS-Boston and started his own consulting business.

In his downtime Pete could be found strumming his guitar, singing, and writing songs. He was a jack of all trades and made sure his children learned to fix their own cars, leaky pipes, and how to work with wood. Pete would gladly share a beer with anyone and would be happy to talk for hours on just about any subject. He loved the beach, whether surfing in his younger years, boating, or just sitting by the water. He was also a Parrot Head, a tradition he handed down to his three children.

Over 20 years ago Pete was diagnosed with a brain tumor, but he succeeded in defying the odds with an unending sense of optimism, humor, and a refusal to quit. His friends and family credit him with teaching them that nothing is ever as bad as it seems and music makes everything better.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life at visiting hours in the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Ave, Needham, on Needham on Monday, September 13th from 4:00-7:00pm. His Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Joseph Church, 1360 Highland Ave, Needham, on Tuesday, September 14th at 10:00. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Brain Tumor Society, 55 Chapel St, Suite 200, Newton, MA 02458.
