Phyllis K. Melick passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026 at the age of 86. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, GiGi, sister, and friend whose determination, fierce devotion, strength, and generous spirit touched the lives of all who knew her.
Born on June 9, 1939 in Manchester, NH, Phyllis was the daughter of Joseph and Ginny Kilar. Throughout her life, she was known for her dedication to her family, her community, and the values she held dear.
Phyllis had a passion for details which shone through in her sewing and her multiple careers (front desk in medical offices, medical billing, frontside worker at a compounding pharmacy). Throughout her life she found ways to serve others (church groups, OES, advisory boards for both Rainbow and Demolay, volunteer ESL tutor, election worker, etc) and have a good time. Whether through her work, her multiple retirements to care for family, her dedication to friends, devotion to charitable organizations, or her time spent serving her community, she left a lasting impression on many.
She is survived by her sister (Arlene), children (Ronald, Carol, and Kimberly), grandson (Christopher and his wife Rebecca), and great grandson.
Family and friends will remember Phyllis for her compassion, her resilience, and the love she gave so freely. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched.
A home gathering to celebrate Phyllis will be held on March 22 from 10-3 in her Needham, MA home at 508 Great Plain Ave.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Andrew Wommack Ministries or Larry Huck Ministries (Mobile ICU project), in memory of Phyllis.
