Phyllis Wallace (Filomena Rago) of Needham, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 15, 2022. Her 92 years were filled with her beloved family and friends. Born in San Nicola, Italy, daughter of Felice Rago and Marguerite (Bellucci) Rago. Growing up in the North End she attended St. Mary's Catholic School. She moved to Needham in 1958 and spent most of her life as a homemaker on Fair Oaks Park. She also wintered in Tarpon Springs, Florida. The beloved wife of Joseph L. Wallace. The mother of Margaret A. Sheehan and William G. Sheehan of Norwood, Joseph A. Wallace and Julie Wallace of Medfield, Elizabeth M. Pelgro and Michael J. Pelgro of Needham, and Philip J. Wallace and Donna Wallace of Gilford, NH. She had 12 grandchildren: Kathleen White, William Sheehan, Meghan Sheehan, Marie and Laura Wallace, Michael Pelgro, Anthony Pelgro, Joseph Pelgro, Christina Pelgro, Victoria Wallace, Christopher Wallace, Nicholas Wallace and 2 great grandchildren, Ashley and Gabriella White. She is survived by her dear sister, Elizabeth McManus of Chestnut Hill and predeceased by her brother Jerry Rago. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as many extended family in Avellino, Italy.
Visitation will be held in The Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Ave, Needham on Wednesday September 21st from 9am to 10:45am before proceeding to her Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am in St. Joseph Church, 1360 Highland Ave., Needham, MA. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, MA.
