Richard H Benes of West Newton died suddenly Nov 14, 2021 at his home. He was 74

Rick was a lifelong Newton resident and a graduate of Newton High School in 1965. He served with the US Army during the Vietnam war. He worked for the City of Newton Engineering Dept for over 50 years. He had been active with the Boy Scouts and loved fishing, camping, golfing and gardening.

Rick is survived by his wife Susan (O’Brien) Benes, his children Richard and his wife Sarah of Natick, Cassandra Hoeksema and her husband William of Ashburnham and Valerie Corson and her husband Fred of Natick and many grandchildren.

Relatives and friends will gather on Thurs Nov 18 at 10 AM at the Eaton & Mackay Funeral Home 465 Centre St Newton Corner for his procession to Newton Cemetery for his interment with US Army Military Honors at 11 AM. Visiting hours will be in the funeral home on Wed from 4-7 PM.
