Richard J. Griffith

Richard J. Griffith of Holliston, formerly of Needham and Watertown, passed away on Aug. 5, 2022.

Griff was raised in Watertown and had lived in Needham for over 30 years before moving to Holliston.  For over 30 years he worked for HC Starck in Newton and enjoyed spending time on the Cape in Eastham.

Griff was the husband of the late Kathryn (Varley) Griffith; and loving father of Rick Griffith, Jennifer Suttill, Peter Griffith and the late Timothy Griffith. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Griff, or Jimmy as he was know to some family was raised in Watertown by his aunt Florence Gannam and her husband John, with his cousins Virginia Murray, Fr. John Murray and the late David Murray.

His Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wed., Aug. 10 at 10 AM in St. Bartholomew Church, 1180 Greendale Ave., NEEDHAM, followed by Interment in Mt. Benedict Cemetery, West Roxbury.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in Griff's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 (stjude.org/donate) would be appreciated.
