Richard W. “Rit” Henze, age 90 , of Needham, Moultonborough, NH, and Sarasota, FL died June 10th after suffering a major stroke. Born in Glen Rock, NJ, he graduated from Ridgewood High School, Oberlin College (BS) and Stevens Institute of Technology. (MS). During WWII he served in the Army Air Corps forecasting weather for bombing missions over Germany. He spent most of his career as a sales engineer for the Duriron Company. An avid amateur trombonist, he played in dance bands as well as the Ridgewood Symphony. He enjoyed climbing the White Mountains of NH and swimming and boating in the Lakes Region. His greatest love was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Jean Williams Henze, his daughters, Sheryl of NYC, Sharon of Needham and Sandra Coyle of Andover, son-in-law, Douglas Coyle, and grandchildren, Chris and Mike. Predeceased by his brother Frederick, Richard is survived by his sisters, Carolyn Forman, Margaret Davis, Helen Levermore his brother Henry and numerous nieces and nephews.
