Richard Lawson Obituary

Richard V. Lawson, of Newton Centre died suddenly on Aug 29, 2010 at his home. He was 86.
Born in Boston he graduated from Boston University and Harvard Business School and was active with Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. He served with the US Army Air Corps during WW II and was discharged as a Sgt. He worked for over 35 years at Polaroid where he was Director of Distribution and President of Inner City. He also served on the Governors Council on Education and had taught computer courses at the Newton Senior Center.
He was the beloved husband for 60 years of Elaine (Gordneer) Lawson, loving father of Richard V. of Littleton CO, and Jeffrey D. and his wife Janis of Framingham and grandfather of Jonathan, Nicole, Alex and Andrew Lawson.
His funeral service will be held on Thurs Sept 2 at 10 AM in the Newton Cemetery Chapel 791 Walnut St. Newton Centre. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours will be in the Eaton & Mackay Funeral Home 465 Centre St. NEWTON CORNER on Wed from 4-7 PM. Interment is private.
