Richard Henry "Dick" Murphy, Jr.

Richard Henry ‘Dick” Murphy Jr., 75, of Wareham, formerly of Needham, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton. . He was the son of the late Richard Henry and Evelyn (Godfrey) Murphy.

A graduate of Needham High School, Dick served 2 tours of duty in Vietnam and was a was decorated US Army Vietnam War Veteran.  He was a 1981 graduate of MassBay Community College. He also graduated from the Veterans Technical Institute in 2000 and the Educational Institute in 2002 with honors. Dick was a member of the Dedham VFW.

 A Funeral Service will be held at Christ Episcopal Church, 1132 Highland Ave, Needham, on Wednesday, February 8th at 11am. Visitation will be held in the church prior to the service from 10 – 11am. Interment with Military Honors will follow the service at Needham Cemetery.
