Robert G. "Jerry" Dunn, Jr.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Robert (Jerry) Gerard Dunn Jr, 80, of Natick, Massachusetts.  He passed away peacefully on the morning of January 27, 2025.

Jerry was a proud Veteran of the United States Navy.  He honorably served his country from August 1968 until May 1972 and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Combat Action Ribbon. His commitment to service extended beyond his military career, as he dedicated much of his time to volunteering and supporting fellow veterans, always ensuring they received the care and recognition they deserved.

Jerry was a devoted husband to Teresa Dunn, with whom he built a loving home and raised their family in Burlington, MA. He was a proud father to his sons, Matt Dunn and his wife Lisa, Rob Dunn and his wife Hannah, and his daughter, Danielle, and her husband Jonathan. He was also a cherished grandfather to Isabelle and Sydney.  Jerry came from a large family, growing up in Winchester, MA, with five brothers, Ed, David, Kevin (deceased), Stephen (deceased) and Brian; and two sisters, Barbara (deceased) and Rosemary, who shared in his journey through life.

Known for his free spirit, quick wit, selflessness, tremendous faith in God, unwavering care for others and everlasting love for his family, Jerry was a man who put the needs of those around him before his own. Whether through his military service, his dedication to his family, or his work supporting patients in need of Hospice care through the Care Dimensions organization, he embodied kindness, strength, generosity and a contagious love for life. His presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him and may he be never forgotten by all who he knew. 

Visiting Hours to honor Jerry’s life will be held in the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Ave, Needham, on Monday, February 3rd, from 4-7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Joseph Church, 1360 Highland Ave, Needham, on Tuesday, February 4th at 10am.

Jerry will always remain in the hearts of those who loved him, and he will continue to be an inspiration to all who knew him.  His legacy will carry on forever.
