Robert O'Brien Obituary

Robert E. O'Brien of Wollaston formerly of Dorchester died on Dec 15, 2011 at Wingate at Needham. He was 66.

Born and raised in Dorchester, he graduated from Fitchburg State College and received his Masters in Industrial Arts from Bolling Green. He taught for several years at the Boston Technical High School. He loved sailing, rowing and had been a member of a crew team. He also enjoyed woodworking and had built his own sailboat.

Robert was the son of the late Francis E. and Elizabeth (Corrigan) O'Brien; brother of Kathleen Powers and her husband Joseph of Needham and the late Maureen Barton and John O'Brien, the uncle of Devin and Cullan Powers, John O'Brien and his wife Debbie Dashoff, Eileen O'Brien and her husband Richard Heald, Carol Breen, Lisa Breen and her husband Jack Welch and John W. Breen and grand uncle of 6 grandnieces and one grand nephew. He was the brother in law of Anita O'Brien of Needham and Fred Barton of Punta Gorda FL.

Visiting hours will be in the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave Needham on Sat Dec 17 from 8:30 until 9:45 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Church at 10 AM. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery Needham.
