Robert A. "Uncle Bob" Walker

Robert A. “Uncle Bob” Walker of Needham and Pocasset died on Saturday June 12, 2010 at Newton Wellesley Hospital. He was 83 years old. Born and raised in Newton, Bob was a graduate of Newton High School Class of 1945. He worked as a machinist in the Newton area for most of his career, until he retired. Bob was an avid golfer. He enjoyed boating and gardening as well. Known to all as “Uncle Bob”, he was especially devoted to his family. He was the son of the late Captain Charles E. and Louise (Giggey) Walker and the loving brother of Barbara L. Irving of Needham, Charles E. Walker Jr. of Buffalo NY, Pauline A. Desmond of Needham and James A. Walker of Buzzards Bay. Bob was the devoted uncle of Joan E. Irving of Needham and many other nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Funeral from the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Avenue Needham on Thursday June 17 at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Mary Immaculate of Lourdes Church, 270 Elliot St., Newton Upper Falls at 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-7 PM. Interment will take place at Newton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Bob’s name may be made to Charles River ARC, 59 East Militia Heights Rd., Needham MA 02492.
