Ronald Tocci Obituary

Ronald C. Tocci, age 86, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at the VA Hospital in West Roxbury.
Born on October 7, 1939, in Needham, Massachusetts, Ronald was the son of the late Patrick and Josephine Tocci. He was the brother to the late Gloria and husband her Danny Mercuri, and late Edmond and his wife Rose Tocci. He was a proud graduate of Needham High School, Class of 1956, where he was a star ice hockey player.
Following high school, Ronald enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he continued playing hockey while proudly serving his country. He then attended Boston College, playing hockey for the Eagles before earning his degree in accounting. He began his career at Arthur Andersen as an accountant and later shared his knowledge by teaching accounting at Northeastern University.

Ronnie's passion for building began with installing in-ground pools and soon evolved into a thriving career in construction. He founded GRM Realty Inc. as a general contractor, building homes throughout Needham and surrounding communities. His attention to detail, work ethic, and pride in his craft left a lasting mark on the neighborhoods he helped shape.

A man of many interests and endless energy, Ronnie raced offshore powerboats, rode motorcycles and loved snowmobiling trips to Maine and New Hampshire, playing cards at The Village Club where he was a long time member, and was a devoted Red Sox fan, never missing a first pitch from his favorite spot in his recliner. He also loved football, orchestrating countless football pools (and usually winning), and had a lifelong love for both playing and watching golf.

Ronnie loved listening to "oldies" as well as "country western", and was always dancing.
Ronnie's greatest joy came from being with his family. He deeply cherished Sunday mornings, when he would make his famous meatballs and gather his family around the table a weekly tradition that became the heart of his home. Whether watching his granddaughter play hockey, enjoying meals with loved ones, or simply sitting and sharing stories, Ronnie was happiest when surrounded by those he loved. His sense of humor, warmth, and loyalty made him the kind of person everyone gravitated toward.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Simonia Tocci; his children late Ronnie Jr., Kimberly Tocci, Renee Tocci, Agnaldo and Vilma Alvim, Jessica and James Tocci, cousin David Tocci and honorary son Josh Melia; his grandchildren RJ, Brianna her fiancé Melton Howard, Michael Tocci, Tucker and Tanner Kennedy, Gabby (Bella) Cerqua, Daniel and Isabella Alvim. He also leaves behind extended family, dear friends, and countless lives he touched over the years.
A celebration of life will be held at The Village Club, 83 Morton St, Needham, on  at 1:00 P.M on Sunday, October 12th.
