Rosalia "Rosie" Monroe Obituary

Rosalia “Rosie” Maria Monroe, cherished wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully with her family at home on July 10th. She was the beloved heart of the Monroe family. Born on October 11, 1959, in Needham, Massachusetts, Rosie lived a life defined by devotion and quiet strength. She grew up in Needham and went on to call Essex Junction, VT; Sunnyvale, CA; and Grafton, MA, home, creating warm memories wherever she went.

A professional in client services, Rosie brought dedication and care to her work, but it was her role as a loving wife, mother and the foundation of her family that meant the most to her. She poured her heart into raising her children, Thomas, Jennifer, and Stefanie, always putting their needs first.

Rosie adored adventuring throughout New England with her husband, Jim. She loved spending summers with family on Martha’s Vineyard, strolling around Edgartown, and enjoying the beauty of the fall foliage in Stowe, Vermont, alongside those she loved. Her loyalty and steadfastness defined her relationships with all who knew her. She will be remembered for the countless small acts of love she shared with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Jim Monroe; her children, Thomas and Jeni Monroe, Jennifer and Andrew Rodriguez, and Stefanie and Brian McSherry; her grandchildren, Cecily, James, Samuel, Libby, and Salvatore; her mother, Anna Maria Terrazzino; and her siblings, Albertina Delano and her husband Brian, Samuel Terrazzino and his wife Kristine, and her sister-in-law, Barbara Terrazzino. She was predeceased by her father, Samuel Terrazzino, and her brother, Angelo Terrazzino.

Rosie’s family expresses deep gratitude for the love and support extended during her battle with cancer.

A Celebration of Rosie’s life will be held in the Eaton Funeral home, 1351 Highland Ave, Needham, on Thursday, July 17th beginning at 4pm and concluding with a service at 6:30. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Rosie’s name may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Research Institute ( danafarber.org)
