RoseMarie "Rosy" Myers Obituary

RoseMarie Myers, 88 years old (born 07/16/1934) died peacefully with family surrounding her on Tuesday March 14, 2023.  Originally from Defiance and Toledo, Ohio, raised her family in Dover Massachusetts and later retiring in Naples, Florida.  She was a vibrant woman who had a love for all especially her children.  She worked for 41 years to the day at the BI Deaconess Glover Hospital in Needham, formerly known as Glover Hospital where she was a nursing supervisor, and later started and ran the Occupational Health Department. She was known for her impeccable outfits she dressed in and her candy drawer in her office!

RoseMarie (Rosy) was the daughter of Maynard and Katherine Flory, she was born in Uniontown, PA and shortly after moved to Defiance Ohio.  She was always full of energy and happiness. She worked at many of the local coffee shops and bakeries in Defiance and attended Defiance Highschool where she graduated in 1952. RoseMarie was honored to be Head cheerleader for Defiance Highschool, as well as Homecoming Queen and she was later crowned Miss Defiance.

She then attended Defiance college in 1953 and then Toledo Hospital where she earned the title of Registered Nurse which she made her profession.   While in Toledo she met her husband Kenneth Edward Myers, Jr and were married on October 4.

Rosy truly believed life was great and always positive and full of happiness and was grateful for all that she was able to experience, she was generous, spunky, and extremely creative. Rosy and Ken started their family in 1963 with a daughter Linda who she was so proud to have shared her birthday with as Linda was born on her birthday.

She is survived by her daughter Linda Myers and her fiancé Patrick McGowan who lived in Naples who helped her and cared for her when she was unable. She is also survived by her son Kenneth Edward “Chip” Myers, III and is fiancé Roe Meagher of South Carolina.  She is also survived by her beloved, special daughter in law, Christine Ketis who was welcomed into our family with open arms, and Granddaughter Mary Scribner (Steven) and Grandson Artie Georgeacopoulos (Margaret) and 5 great grandchildren. She was extremely proud of her children and their accomplishment.  Her children were her life. She had many special friends and companions in life, and most recently in Naples, Alfon Larson who she enjoyed the Naples philharmonic, church, movies, and many eateries together. She will be so missed by those who survived her, but we have come to realize that Dementia had overcome her to the point that it was hard for her to be herself and was not enjoying life. God had a better plan for her. So, Mom…… Until we meet again……. Never goodbye!!

Her burial will take place Friday, April 21, 2023, at 1pm at the Highland Cemetery, followed by some light refreshments at the Kraft Hall at the Dover Church. If anyone would like to make a donation in her memory, please make It to the Christ Lutheran Church, 113 Union St, Natick MA. Or the Emmanuel Lutheran Church. 777 Mooring Line Dr, Naples FL 34102.

All are welcome to attend, and feel free to bring a short memory of Rosy to share.
