Rosemary Dominick Obituary

Rosemary Murphy Dominick passed away peacefully on June 28, 2026.

Rosemary was born on November 15, 1947 in Boston, MA, the eldest child of James and Rita Keenan Murphy.  She attended Matignon High School, in Cambridge, MA, where she excelled academically and graduated from Boston State, now the University of Massachusetts Boston, in 1969.

After graduation she was an English teacher and chair of the English department at Xaverian Brothers High School in Westwood, MA.  She stepped back from teaching after her son’s birth. As her husband’s career evolved, Rosemary moved from Boston first to Dallas and then to St Louis where they enjoyed living for 20 years before returning to Boston.

Throughout the years she enjoyed spending winters in Palm Desert, CA, where she and Al have had a home for nearly 40 years, and summers in both Hampton Beach, NH and Nantucket, MA with family.  With her winning smile and engaging personality she made wonderful friends wherever she lived and spent time.

Rosemary loved nothing more than family and friends.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Al Dominick, her best friend and great love.  She will be greatly missed by her children, Al Dominick, III, his wife Aimee, and their children Evvie and Alfred IV of Washington DC; Tracey Grace, her husband Nick, their children Daniel and Jessica and Tracey’s stepchildren Emma, Liam, Dillon, Ryan and Kyle of London (UK); James Dominick, his wife Krista, and their children James Jr, Josie and Jake of Darien, CT; and Suzanne Kattar, her husband Gavin and their newborn son Redford and Suzanne’s stepchildren George and Audrey.  She was a beloved sister, sister-in-law and aunt.  She was incredibly close with her sisters Terri Dunphy and Cheryl Marocco and with her “out-laws” Paul Dunphy and Genevieve Murphy.  She deeply missed her brother JD Murphy who passed away in 2018.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 1st, from 3:30-6:30 at Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Avenue, Needham.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on July 2nd at St Joseph Church, 1360 Highland Avenue, Needham at 11am.  Reception to follow.
