Ruth M. (Dawson) Vincent

Ruth M. (Dawson) Vincent of East Falmouth died on Sunday, August 7th at Cape Cod Hospital. She was 78 years old. A longtime resident of Needham, Ruth was born at Glover Hospital in Needham on May 3rd, 1933, daughter of the late Irving and Margaret (Rhynd) Dawson. She graduated from Needham High School in 1951. Ruth was a lifelong member of the Carter Memorial United Methodist Church. In 1952 Ruth attended Framingham Union Hospital Nurses training and worked for several years at the Glover Hospital.
After taking time to raise her family, she returned to the working world as an employee of the Needham Public Library. She later worked at CVS in Needham where she acted more as a greeter than an employee. Ruth was always one to strike up a conversation with anyone, whether lending a shoulder to lean on or sharing a family story. Ruth spent 40 happy years vacationing in Belgrade Maine with her husband, children and grandchildren.
The beloved wife for 50 years of Raymond Vincent of East Falmouth, she is also survived by her four children, Bonnie and Al Turco and their 3 children of Needham, Peter and Fran Vincent and their 3 children of Albany, NY, Ray and Lisa Vincent and their 5 children of New market NH and Suzanne and Timothy O’Brien and their 3 children of Hamilton. Ruth was the sister of Norma Eadie of East Falmouth and Glenn Dawson of Falmouth. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held in the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Avenue Needham, on Friday August 12 at 12 Noon. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting will be held on Friday morning from 10:30 to 12 Noon prior to the service. Interment Needham Cemetery.
