Scott Marino Obituary

Scott Joseph Marino of South Boston, formerly of Needham, passed away on April 14 2012 surrounded by his family and friends.
Scott grew up in Needham, MA and was a proud graduate of the Broadmeadow Elementary School, Pollard Middle School and Needham High School. While at Needham High, Scott excelled at sports, captaining both the football and basketball teams. Scott played sports just as he lived his life: with passion and emotion. Scott attended the University of Rhode Island. He spent his career in pharmaceutical sales where he was able to use his wonderful personality to build a successful career.

There was no bigger Boston sports fan than Scott and he loved to spend time analyzing, criticizing and rooting for the hometown teams. Scott was an avid golfer and loved spending time on the links with his friends. And once spring in Boston arrived, Scott was the first person found at the beach soaking up the rays and reading the paper. He loved Cape Cod and the Islands. And of course, he always had a special place in his heart for where he grew up—Needham. He was a Rocket for life and always referred to Needham as "God's Country".

Scott will be remembered for his vibrant smile, quick wit and love for life. He would light up every room her entered and even those who met him once would never forget his warmth and charm. To his close friends, Scott was loving, loyal and selfless. He was the best friend anyone could ask for and had relationships with many. His friends were so numerous that he was often referred to as the "Mayor". To his family, he was an endearing son, caring brother and a doting uncle. And like a true Italian, Scott loved to eat-especially his nana's homemade meatballs.

Although he passed way too early, Scott lived many lifetimes in his 38 years: he truly loved and embraced each day of his life and he never took any time or relationship for granted. His memory will live in all those he touched.

Scott is the beloved son of Donna L.(Lloyd) Lawlor and her husband Dennis of Middleboro and Joseph Marino and his partner George Doherty of West Roxbury. Dear Brother of Marc and his wife Kyra and uncle of Tessa all of Stow. Scott is also survived by his many aunts, uncles, cousins and his numerous friends.
Scott's family and friends will gather at the Needham Golf Club, 49 Green St, Needham on Thursday, April 19th from 12:30 to 3:00 PM. The burial will be a private ceremony. Please omit flowers, memorial donations in Scott's memory may be made to Tufts Medical Center CCU, 800 Washington St. Boston, MA 02111.
