Stanley A. Duvall, a lifelong Needham resident and retired Needham Police Officer died on Wednesday June 2nd at Massachusetts General Hospital. He was 74 years old. Born in Newton, he was the son of the late Albert and Elizabeth (Conley) Duvall. Stan was a graduate of Needham High School. He was a US Army Korean War veteran, having served in Germany. Stan joined the Needham Police Department in 1958. After 29 years of dedicated service, Stan retired in 1987. Stan was a member of the American Legion. He loved all sports and was an avid hockey fan. The beloved husband of the late Grace E. (Mulherin), he was the loving father of Doreen Keeler of Derry, NH, Donna Atkinson and Darlene A. Stanley both of Needham, Stanley A. Jr. of Natick, Derek of Greenfield, Rebecca of Needham, Dennis of Millis and the late Deanne Duvall. Grandfather of Jennifer, Timothy and Courtney Keeler, Valerie, Matthew and Kevin Atkinson, Ryan, Robyn and Jeremy Stanley, Robert, Cecilia, Charlotte and Crystal Stanley, Heather and Dillon Duvall, Robert Jr., and Danyka Green. Great grandfather of Nevaeh and Cassidy Stanley. Also survived by his dear friend Ann Allen of Pascoag RI. A Funeral Service will be held at the Christ Episcopal Church 1132 Highland Ave Needham on Monday June 7 at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held in the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave Needham on Sunday from 4-7 PM. Interment private. In lieu of flowers donations in Stan’s name may be made to the Stanley R. Tippett House, 920 South St, Needham MA 02492.
