Obituary
Stelios "Stanley" Groussis, age 84, of Newton, MA, formerly of Athens, Greece passed on Thursday, May 25, 2023. Beloved husband of 62 years to Mary Groussis (Stavropoulos). Loving father to George Groussis and wife, Helen Groussis of Hopkinton, Mina Groussis of Natick, Peter Groussis and wife, Paula Groussis of Lynnfield. Devoted Grandfather "Babala" to Maria and Nicole Groussis, George and Maria Varoudakis, Stephen and Nicholas Groussis.
Stelios was an extraordinary man. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Even in the face of his own hardships and illnesses, he remained steadfast with his love, hope, advice and help whenever he could.
If you asked Stelios what his greatest accomplishment was, he would smile and say two words, my family. He will be dearly missed by his family, and all who knew and loved him.
Visiting Hours will be held at the St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 57 Brown St, Weston, MA 02493 on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, from 9-11 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11am. Interment to follow at Newton Cemetery & Arboretum, 791 Walnut, Newton Centre, MA 02459. In lieu of flowers, donations in Stelios name may be made to the American Lung Association (https://www.lung.org/)
