Stephen Schmall, 68, of Franklin passed away on June 14, 2021 after suffering a long battle with various health issues. He was the son of the late Arthur & Betty Lee (MacDougall) Schmall & stepson of the late Nancy Lee Schmall (Greenleaf). Stephen was raised in Needham and over the years, resided in Wrentham, Holliston, Falmouth, & Osterville. After graduating from Springfield College, he worked many years as a project manager in the construction industry. Stephen was an avid fisherman and enjoyed boating, his family, and in his earlier days, hunting. He is survived by his former spouse, Michele Breton, along with their children Eric & his wife Felicity of Saucier, MS; Kevin of Lowell, MA & the late Gregory Schmall. He was the proud & loving “PopPop” of Riley & Kirra. Stephen is also survived by his brothers Randall & his wife Brenda, Bradley & his wife Lauren, Step-brother Richard Greenleaf, Step-sisters Cindy Greenleaf, Susan Liberty, & the late Deborah LoSasso, many nieces & nephews & dear friend, Clara Mesonero. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours in the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Ave, Needham on Monday, June 21st from 4-7 PM. Burial will be private at a later date.
