Thanda Aye Fields Brassard, 51, of Needham, MA, passed away on Saturday March 9th, 2024, after a long and hard-fought battle with Cancer.
Thanda was born on June 18, 1972, to Lanny Fields & Aye Khaing in Indiana. After Thanda graduated from Phillips Andover in 1990, she went on to study English at Boston College and then to Boston College Law School.
After graduating with her Law degree, she went into public practice, eventually ending up with a long and storied career at Fiduciary Trust Company. When she went on personal leave, she was the General Counsel of Fiduciary Trust of New England, a position she was so proud of.
Thanda met her husband, Terry McMahon, through Thanda’s co-workers. She always joked that the start of their relationship was when she asked Terry out on a “networking” meeting because she was interested in him, but seeing Terry accepted her invitation before she finished her sentence, the originator of the first date is still unknown. Thanda and Terry merged their beautiful Families on August 6th, 2016 and share four amazing children; Ian, Ryan, Kiley and Aislinn.
Thanda was predeceased by her mother Aye Aye Khaing Fields. She is survived by her loving husband, Terry McMahon and her children; Ian and Ryan Brassard, Kiley and Aislinn McMahon. She is also survived by her father, Lanny Fields and her brother Lanny Fields Jr. and his partner Derrick Dasenbrock. Thanda was the former daughter in law of Mary and Ray Brassard.
Visitation will be held in the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Ave, Needham on Friday March 15th from 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Ellie Fund (elliefund.org), an organization Thanda felt very strongly about. She was a patient of the organization, later serving on their Board.
