Timothy Tierney, beloved father, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2025, at the age of 63.
Born the youngest of six siblings, Tim grew up in Needham MA, surrounded by the love of his parents, Joe and Virigina Tierney and his siblings, Patricia, Joe Jr, Janet, Larry and Ginny. His childhood stories were always a source of laughter and pride, he was forever happily telling tales of his early Needham days of youth. He remained in Needham, and began his family with his former wife and lifelong friend, Donna. Tim and Donna had 2 children, Alexa and Olivia, who were the light of Tim’s life. Tim was a devoted father to his daughters.
Tim, “Timbuck” to so many, lived life with laughter and an energy that drew us all in. He loved fiercely, his girls, his family, his friends. Devoted father, sometimes surfer, story telling guru, fireworks king…his love for the beach, music, sunsets, art, will forever remind us of the joy he found in life. He found beauty in the simple things, forever the optimist, always reflecting on the gratitude he felt for others. He will be remembered for his loyalty and fierce love for his family. Above all, Timothy was a light in this world — a light that will continue to shine in the hearts of those who knew him.
At the Gates of Heaven, he will also be greeted by many loving pets, whose companionship in life brought him joy and who will surely bring him peace once more.
Visiting hours will be held at Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Avenue, Needham on Sunday, September 7 from 3pm-6pm and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, September 8 at 10am in St. Joseph Church, 1360 Highland Avenue, Needham, with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Needham.
