William Jackson Obituary

William J. “Bill” Jackson of Revere, passed away in Needham on Thursday, October 7th. He was 79 years old. Born in Malden, he was a son of the late Willard A. and Anne C. (Henry) Jackson. A graduate of Needham High School, Bill also graduated from Boston College with a Bachelor’s degree and received his Master’s degree from Temple University. Bill served 2 years in the Peace Corps in Liberia and Africa.

Bill worked as an assistant principal in Philadelphia, PA and then went on to worked as the Director of several Blaine Beauty Schools, until he retired. He travelled the world and enjoyed trips to Greece, Ireland, Morocco, Egypt, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Amsterdam and France.

Bill was a colorful character. He was active in politics in the City of Revere including the Revere Political Journalism Symposium. Bill was involved with the annual Moroccan Festival in Revere, the Zahra magazine and the Boston International Film Festival.

He was the brother of Willard “Bunky” Jackson and his late wife Anne, Christopher and his wife Pat, Jane Jackson, Delia “Dee Dee” Finneral and her late husband Henry, Thomas and his wife Sharon and the late Maureen Jackson. Bill is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and his close friends Tracey Neal and Tracey Neal Jr. of Philadelphia.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Bill’s Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Church, 1360 Highland Ave, Needham, on Monday, October 18th at 10am.
