William N Pachas., MD, 89, of Newton, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, June 7, 2022. He was the loving father of Denise, Stephanie, Jennifer, Nicholas and the late Laura. Dr. Pachas was also the loving grandfather of his 4 grandchildren, Lynsey, Daniella, Michael and Joseph
Dr. Pachas was a renowned Rheumatologist for over 60 years.
Dr. Pachas was born in Lima, Peru and came to the United States in 1960. He made his way to Boston, where he met his late wife, Judith. Together, they had 4 girls in 4 years, while he practiced medicine at Mass. General Hospital. In 1975, his beloved wife, Judith passed away, leaving him to care for 4 small children with the help of his mother and father in-law, Mr. & Mrs. James Garrity and sister in-law, Barbara.
In 1980, he welcomed a son, Nicholas, which he was overjoyed about.
Dr. Pachas was not only a loving, caring and understanding father, but he was a loving, caring and understanding doctor to the patients he treated. He loved medicine, research and most of all, his patients and his patients loved him, respected him and trusted him. Dr. Pachas will be forever missed by his family, friends and patients.
Visiting hours will be held in the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Ave Needham, on Monday, June 13th from 4-7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Joseph Church, 1360 Highland Ave, Needham, on Tuesday at 10am. Interment will follow at Newton Cemetery.
